Can Engineering Life lead us towards a better future?
This question lies at the heart of EL & Us, a major art-science project created by Swiss artist Michel Comte in collaboration with Art of Molecule.
Drawing on extensive scientific datasets and imagery from molecular and cellular systems, Comte transformed the technologies of Engineering Life into a new visual language. Through large-scale 3D mappings and immersive projections, scientific data moved beyond the laboratory and became an artistic experience — opening new perspectives on the promises, uncertainties, and societal implications of engineering life.
The EL & Us film had its world premiere at the Filmoteca Vaticana in Vatican City. Since then, it has been presented at selected events and institutions as a catalyst for dialogue between science, art, and society. The film is available for screenings in connection with conferences, festivals, educational programmes, and other public events.
