AoM × ZURICH UNIVERSITY OF THE ARTS
Since 2017, Art of Molecule has collaborated with the Master of Transdisciplinary Studies at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), creating an experimental space for encounters between artists and scientists.
The collaboration brings together students and researchers from different disciplines to explore how artistic and scientific practices can challenge, inspire, and transform one another. Through direct encounters with laboratories, researchers, technologies, and scientific questions, new perspectives and forms of artistic expression emerge.
What happens when artists enter scientific environments? Which questions, methods, and uncertainties are shared across disciplines? And how can artistic practice reveal dimensions of science that remain hidden in data, publications, and laboratory routines?
Over the years, the collaboration has resulted in a diverse body of artistic projects — from films, installations, and performances to sound works and experimental interventions. Together, they demonstrate that the encounter between art and science is not simply about communicating research differently, but about creating spaces for curiosity, critical reflection, and new ways of seeing.
